I want to just take some time to explain some changes that are coming to both sc2ai ladder and the Ai-Arena ladder. In short, we’ve decided to integrate our systems, and concentrate the community on a single ladder, and a single game version. Over the past couple of years, the Ai-Arena staff have done a great job in building out their infrastructure and helping the community to develop. I have no doubt this will continue, and I will be around to support that wherever possible.

This means that after 11 amazing seasons, its time for me to take more of a back seat. Its been a great honour to have so many great bots being written by a lot of very talented authors, but I need to free up my time a bit to concentrate on other projects. I’m still going to stay involved, and run some tournaments, but I will no longer be actively involved in the running of the ladder. I’m very happy that we have such a passionate and talented group of people at Ai-Arena, that can take this community forward and grow it.

At the moment, the timing of this is not fixed, although the current ladder season will finish in mid December, to allow authors to prepare their bots over Christmas. The tournament will happen in Early January, meaning that the changover should happen in mid January. As always, I will update you all when these timings are confirmed.

With this, the Patreon will be closed at the end of this month. A massive thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past few years, we really couldn’t have done this without you. I encourage everyone to support the Ai-Arena Patreon

  • At the end of Season 11, the current sc2ai site will be moved to its new location at
  • the site and ladder will then be administered by the current Ai-Arena staff, based on their infrastructure and setup
  • Discord setup is still being worked on, we will update and consult with the community where possible
  • The current sc2ai Patreon will be closed at the end of the current month
  • I encourage everyone to support the Ai-Arena Patreon where possible

We will all be on the Ai-Arena podcast Tonight at 7pm UK time. If there are any questions, and I’m sure there will be many, we will be happy to answer them on the stream, or in discord.
